It’s easy for travellers to get internet access in the Ísafjörður area. Snerpa, the local ISP has installed a wireless network throughout the town, based on high speed uplinks. All you have to do is look for ‘snerpa-hotspot’ on your WiFi connection. You will be directed to a portal where you can purchase access.

When does the access expire?

Once you buy a 30-minute or 24-hour pass, your time starts as soon as we get your payment. You'll lose access exactly 30 minutes or 24 hours later. But if you buy for many days at once, your pass will end at midnight on the last day.

When is my access activated?

When you pay by credit card the access is activated as soon as the payment is cleared.

How many devices can I use to access the Hotspot?

You can only use one device, i.e. the device that you used when you activated your access. Some smartphones can be used as a WiFi sharing hotspots, and you can take advantage of this should you want to use more than one device. Please refer to the manufacturers directions on how to use this function if available on your smartphone.

IIs the WiFi limited in some way?

The WiFi can be use for all kinds of services unless you are sending email without authentication. If you are unable to send an email through your email program we recommend using your email providers website instead. F.x. gmail.com

Will I get a receipt?

A receipt is sent to your provided email address once the payment is cleared.

Is my personal information safe?

We value your privacy and handle your personal data with utmost care. The sole piece of personal information we retain is your email address which we only use to send a receipt and to provide support.
